It's easy to write stuff and put it on a website. But it's much harder to get students exited and coming back for more.
You can't just give students something to read and then a list of questions. However, later on in the course, you might be able to use assessment questions for on-line discussion as a way of aiming at the goals and doing formative assessment.
You need lots of creative ideas for online learning activities. Writing a Moodle course is like writing for TV, which has a voracious ability to consume ideas. Gather a very wide choice of examples for anything you teach.
It's good practice to have a group and brainstorm ideas. It can be quite difficult to generate enough of them by yourself. The group is a way of keeping fresh and creative about this. That will take team meetings and student feedback sessions.
